Temp Sensor

My outside temp sensor appears to be stuck at 13 degrees Celsius. Does anyone know where the temp sensor is located on the truck which is a 2010 3500? I phoned my dealer and it was like talking to a brick wall.

here is the description from Chrysler

The ambient temperature sensor is a variable resistor mounted to the lower left side of the Front End Module (FEM), behind the radiator grille and in front of the engine compartment.

The ambient temperature sensor cannot be adjusted or repaired and, if inoperative or damaged, it must be replaced.

will have to remove the grille to get access to it. easy to remove grille. couple bolts and clips and its out. there are a couple plastic rivets that will need to be removed. they are not re-installable so you will need to get a couple more to re-install the grille. there are plastic push pins (reinstallable if you remove them without breaking them) and 4 bolts along the top

front end module. it controls misc stuff like washer pump, ambient air temp sensors etc.

ok, I'm playin.

they call the FEM (Front End Module (FEM) carrier (also known as the radiator closure)

since the truck is assembled in modules, they have designations for different sections of the truck similar to an airframe on a heli. (station # etc....)

Thanks everyone, I guess I will be taking it back. I hope the techs are smarter than the people I talked to.

there is a bulletin for the outside air temp being higher than actual when a snow plow is on but its one of those DUH things since the plow blocks airflow over the sensor and is getting heat soaked by the radiator.

its real and people have complained. fun to tell them nothings wrong lol
