ok guys this may be a dumb question, and probly is a dumb question but I dont know which one would run better?

5" TB exh
EGR/COOLER delete
GDP Progate (wastegate)
smarty
gauges

(unless you want a built in gauge set then go with H&S Minimaxx)

I just installed one on a buddys truck here in town last week. it is the cats meow compared to the other gates I have installed. Its on my "to buy" list for my truck.

ok, so the GDP Progate is a bypass for the exhaust brake so that you can get more exhaust out as the exhaust brake is a small opening compared to the exhaust pipe. but still have full function of the exhaust brake

Did I get that right?

not a bypass for the EB at all. its a wastegate since our turbo's are not wastegated and when you delete them, the potential for headgasket failure is increased.

don't be scared. the majority of the HG that are being popped are ones who do not properly burp ALL air out of the cooling system and then be "aggressive" with their trucks. as well as excessive drive pressure since the VGT turbo has no wastegate.

ok, I misread what was being bypassed...guess bypass is also the wrong word since its more of an an over presser bypass.

This helped me understand.

thanks for the info, this is my first diesel and I really want to know what is going on since I really want to do the deletes....well once I have a few years of warranty under my belt and can convince the wife that it will be safe that i will not kill the truck in the process of doing this.

you are welcome. the wastegate keeps from over driving the turbo and creating an excessive amount of backpressure (increasing cylinder pressures popping HG). studs will help keep it clamped down too
