Repair cracked block

Has anyone repaired a cracked block with suuccess? A buddy has a 6.7 with a crack in #6 sleeve. Has anyone cut out the sleeve and installed a repair sleeve?

had to think about this for a minute. you have to strip the block completely down and bore the cylinder large enough for a sleeve. this does nothing for the crack and as the crack expands you are going to get water in the oil. just get another engine block
