Power steering pump

Anyone else have their power steering pump go on there 4th gens? Was out hunting yesterday and my truck started acting up on me, everytime I let off the throttle to come to a rolling turn the power steering pump would cut out and I would have to stiff arm the steering wheel to turn the corner and as I got back on the throttle it would come back alive. Pump worked fine as long as I was on the throttle. Worsened throughtout the day.I had glimpses of this problem right off the bat but only intermittently. Brakes seemed to be wonky also as the power steering pump acts as a brake booster. Truck only has 30 thousand kms on it. To the dealership I go yay.

Yep, probably the same problem I had with mine. There is a TSB out for it. It tells the dealer to change a hose which is apparently collapsing causing the loss of power steering and dead feeling brakes. Do you hear a "hissing" sound coming from the area of the master cylinder with the truck sitting idling? That is the clue that put them on my problem.

Dealer replaced Pump and all hoses under warranty, no more issues. They didn't really tell me why it cratered. As long as its fixed I could almost care less.
