Oil Dilution, what is acceptable???
My EVIC is saying "oil change due" see dealer. it is only about 1500 miles since changed. also oil level is a bit high on the stick.
heard of diesels "making oil" and from posts fuel is getting into the oil. what damage happens in this case?
how expensive is having oil analyzed? thinking of doing one, how much oil do I need to have them save?
want to do a short trip this weekend, about 300 miles round trip. should I change it before this jaunt?

Was the oil monitor reset at the last oil change? See manual on how to do this.
Cummins has stated that the engine can have up to a 5% fuel dilution in the oil; after that it needs to be changed.
Several companies do oil monitoring such as Blackstone Labs and Cummins also offers this service. I buy my kits from Geno’s Garage and send them into Cummins for the test and report back. I usually buy them in sets of two or four when I buy my filters also; the average cost is $22 a bottle and this will pay for the testing. You still need to ship and pay for the shipping either with Fed-X or United Parcel and you cannot ship thru the US mail.
I have read where a Ram service tech claims that the oil change should take place no more than five hundred (500) miles after the message has come on.
