So I've looked high and low trying to find information about this code P2493, I just got the truck out of the shop for the 6th time for all new egr gaskets and fixed a leaking egr cooler. Now it's back in for this and a possible faulty electronic shift controller for the 4wd, please no delete it comments. If this keeps up I'll have a pickup for sale soon cannot have this screwing up on me.

 

The most common cause of this code is a defective exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler bypass valve but clogged EGR passages and clogged DPFE sensor passages may also contribute. You may also suspect a faulty EGR sensor, MAP sensor, faulty EGR valve, faulty EGR control solenoid, a broken vacuum line, or faulty electrical wiring (or connectors) as possible causes.

 

It was just in the shop for all of that last week. It got all new gaskets a egr bypass valve as well,seriously about to get rid of this thing before the warranty is done.
