I've been looking at 2011 Mega cab daully 3500 trucks with HO motor and I can't find any with a 4.10 ring & pinion. Can't build one with a 4.10 either unless its a SRW. I read about a max tow option being offered but I didn't see that either on the website. Its uspposed to have a better torque converter, improved helical gears in ring & pinion and aluminum differentail cover plate. I'm confused

When do the 2012s come out? maybe it will be on those trucks?

 

I think all the HO's have the heavier converter and stuff. My dealer tried to talk me into 4:10's, but I went with 3:73's and **** glad I did. With my 32' flatbed and 14 big bales it runs awsome. Figure I'm grossing about 30000+!

 

I've looked at a bunchof HO trucks and not one has a 4.10. I guess if the 3.73 can handle the load you are pulling then pulling a 18,000 lb rv should be be ok to. I just like the rpms to be below 2000 at 70 mph. I figure the 4.10s would be at 1900 at 70 mph with the 0.63 OD ratio. Much lower than my 03 with 6 speed manual at same speed and ratio! 4.10s are better for pulling and if the highway rpms are below 2000 at 70 I see no reason to not get them.

 

The website is not up to date. They only have the 2011 trucks on the site that are on the lots. Guess we will have to wait for the 2012 trucks to updated to the site.


I checked with my local dealer and he could find no 2011 DRW trucks with 4.10 gears anywhere. They are sold out.

 

You can build a Dually with the 4.10 and max tow package but on a regular cab only,try it.

 

Well I hope that they offer 4.10s on more trucks than a regular cab! wait and see.....
