limp mode coming on?
limp mode coming on?
My dad has a 2011 dodge 3500 6 spd. Its got the dpf deleted. The limp mode is coming on when he's got a trailer loaded or unloaded just driving. Sometimes it comes on with just the truck. We've asked dodge but they don't know so any help as to why is doing this is greatly appreciated.

Is the truck actually going into limp mode or are you just getting the exhaust service required message? I have the Black Maxx and still get the message on rare occasions, last time was on Sunday with 72K+ on the truck. The message went away after restart.
I recommend updating your tuner, then updating the truck. I have had to "return to stock" via the tuner only then reinstall the tuner to get the message to go away.

you can just be driving down the road an it come on. Most of the time when it comes on we got a gooseneck but no load. It was just doing it every now an then and now it does all the time. It goes into limp mode and dodge told us that a manual doesnt do that only the automatics so they wont even touch it.
On the back side of the intake horn is the pressure/temp sensor, I forget what it's called but it's the only one there and held in place with a single torx screw. Pull the sensor out and have a look at it, my son's was so bad after about 20k miles it had to be replaced mine after 4500ml was cleanable. If the sensor can't sense the correct boost pressure because it's almost totally clogged up it will never run right under load. A new sensor is about $50 from Cummins. If the truck was used much before delete then you might want to remove the inatke horn and see how much carbon is plugging the heater grids. Which model of H&S is he using, if it can read boost pressure you should be able to tell if it's normal there.
I just came across a link I had saved to the "MAP' sensor........
CUMMINS 4921322 MAP SENSOR ('07.5-'13, 6.7L) Genos garage has them for $43.95.
