Idling after deletes
chopper:
Long term idling is not good for the 5.9 or 6.7 engines. There are other threads here on DTR about this subject. Go to the SEARCH feature we have and you should get some good info.

Thanks! Lots of info....as far as myself on idling I only idle at
most maybe 10-15 minutes and dry rare at the least. I was
just curious if there was any harm. I read others idling for hours
a day and I guess that would be cause for concern.

Your very welcome chopper!
Personally, I don't think 10-15 minutes is going to hurt your truck, but IMO, long periods are not good for the engine for the reasons stated by the members in those links I posted for you. In the CR 5.9 and 6.7 engines you have to remember that the every time a cylinder fires those electronic injectors are going through 3-5 events every single time!
That is ALOT of wear inside the injectors! You can use me as an example that these CR injectors are NOT as reliable as the earlier mechanical injectors as my CR injectors in my 2006 had to be replaced at about 100,000 miles! Compare that to my old 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve injectors which I didn't touch until the truck went over 200,000 miles!--------
