How to see CEL codes?

I have tried making sure my odo is reading total miles and cycled the key on/off/on/off/on and nothing??? My engine light is on, but I can't tell why. Can someone tell me how to read the code and reset it?

2010 6.7 Auto, 77k miles.

I have to cycle mine rather quickly to get it to read the codes. Should come up ------ and then the codes or "DONE"

I did the on/off, on/off, on/off, on thing rather fast and it brought up three codes. Was unable to remember them all so tried it again and all that came up is the ----- for a few seconds and then it shows done. Tried again a while latter and the same thing, ----- then done. No more codes are showing. ??? Will check again in the morning to see if I can get the codes. I will have pen and paper ready. Where did the codes go???

From my understand, something within the last few years, Ram got rid of that feature. If that's true, the only way you'll be able to pull the codes is with a scan tool. You could always go to an auto parts store or the likes. Me, because I have an Android phone, I bought a ELM327 bluetooth OBD2 adapter for about $20 and use a app called Torque lite (free version), with the phone. Works perfect!!

Good Luck and if you find a way to pull the codes without a tool, please let us know!!
