Exclamation Getting APPS #2? codes

Hi All,

New to the forum, but I did a search on "apps" in this forum and nothing came up... maybe I'm the first out of the 4th generation to have this issue?

Anyway, here's the situation:
Bought used on 1/22/15

2010 Dodge RAM 2500 Laramie 6.7L Cummins. 139,240 miles. All service done by Dodge, on time up to this point. Truck is stock... for now.

A week ago, the CEL came on. Took it to Black Widow Diesel in Center Point Iowa (awesome place) for a code read and it showed APPS #2 running at about 1/2 the voltage of the APPS #1. We cleared the code and it ran fine... up until I had a thought yesterday that when the 1st time the code came on, I had it in cruise control. I put it is cruise and yup, the CEL came on.

In doing searches, I have seen where a lot of people are having a problem with APPS's, but only one is mentioned as being available or replaced.

Here are my questions:

Is the APPS #2 for the cruise control?
Is the part available or do I have to go through Dodge?
Is it replaceable by me? (I've rebuilt a number of cars and trucks and have just about every tool...)
Where IS it?

In the short term, I do plan on checking ground point to make sure none are corroded or loose - Any ideas of ones to check?

I have seen "reset" instructions on other forums, but I'm not sure that would work if I'm truly getting 1/2 of the voltage of the other one.... leads me to the grounding issue.

Any thoughts?

I am getting a BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool (
Amazon.com: BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool - For check engine light & diagnostics - Android ONLY: Automotive Amazon.com: BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool - For check engine light & diagnostics - Android ONLY: Automotive
) since it seems as if one should really have a scanner handy with these trucks, but it won't be here until next week.

I do plan on getting a tunner and delete pipe within the next year. Then after that a gen 2 (or is it 3) manifold (3 +3 into 1), flipped over so the turbo is on top and then a custom down pipe. (Anyone know if the stock muffler has good enough flow or should I look at a aftermarket muffler?)

I'll work on a sig soon.

Thanks for any insight you may provide.

Dan

Well, I took the truck into the dealer and they pulled codes, says it was two of the O2 sensors. They replaced them and no problems since.
