G56 still available for MY 17 / 18?
Hello all, long time gone former poster here.
I currently have a 12 Ford 6.7 PSD F250 that I'm considering selling.
I love my Ford but the current offerings by Ford are outright hideous and the bodies are incredibly fragile.....i.e. I will not be buying a 17 or newer Ford....maybe a low mileage 16 if I can find one.
Im considering purchasing another Ram, I used to have a 05 Megacab 2500 with a G56 tranny.
I really would like to have a stick in my next truck and realize the offerings are extremely thin these days.
im wondering if the G56 tranny can still be found?
Has it been updated to match the higher output of the current diesels?
other limitations?
thanks

My 2017 Ram has the 6-speed G56. I did it because I just wanted it.
Honestly, I'd probably have been better off with the automatics these days, but my lifetime was spent in the era of the manuals being better and when this truck was available, I jumped on it.
I do like it, especially coming from the POS 47RE in my last pickup. But I didn't really NEED it now like I did then.
I know one other person locally with the G56, and she loves it. All my other RAM acquaintances have one of the big autos.
