Fuel filtration

What are your thoughts on the VP MAX duel remote? I KNOW the Glacier setup is a good thing, just wondering about this one...little cheaper too.

by the time you bought the filters and the lines to git r dun, then a pump, you would be into it for about the same money or less than if you just bought a FASS 150 which comes with everything. FASS also just released a new pickup system for the stock canister. no more fuel filler neck return, no more cutting the fuel tank, no more 1/4 tank issues. have not gotten any specs or pics of it yet but from what I hear it is pretty sweet

The VP kit has a better final filtration rating than the FASS, but needs a different f/w sep on it, like the Baldwin BF1212.

AH

here is a gee wizz question

could a filter system like the VP from above be plumbed pre FASS (lets use the HD150 for example purposes) without causing any stress on the pump motor and or PSI loss?

I wouldn't put a whole system pre FASS. What I would do is put a Baldwin BF1212 on the FASS and a Donaldson P551313 after the FASS and call it good...

i am using the 551313 on my xfer system from the top tank to the bottom tank. currently only fill from the top tank and xfer because of the better filtration. figure getting 2mu to the stock filter is good and using the stock filter for H2O removal pretty much.

Not a bad way to do it, a f/w sep wouldn't hurt on the xfer system.. water is very easy to separate in those applications. The P553203 is 4um and a good f/w sep.

i have been looking at re-doing it. was looking at a racor set up or even a centrifuge but $$$$$$$$. I guess the P553203 and a filter head would be a cheap way to go. will have to remove my pump assembly and fab another bracket for the h20 filter but thats easy to git dun

If it were my truck I would put the P553203 (Racor cross) between the aux and main tank, then put more filtration between the main and CP3... The reason being the fuel pump moves a LOT more fuel than the engine uses so you are polishing your fuel with your best filtration between the tank and CP3.

I am sure you have seen my setup, not overly $$.. very effective and easy to install.

i plan on doing that. waiting on the mad money acct to gain some funds to git r dun. plan on FASS HD150 to feed the motor with a final (similar to gdp 2 micron) near the cp3.

could you post up a link to your set up? that way people can see what we are talking about. I have seen it before (hope to be able to see it in person this summer in august when i come home) but it would be a great reference for others to see what we have been chatting about

Yeah... the FS19732 is 99.9% the same and reasonably priced.
