Fuel Filter MICRON RATING

I have 2014 with the 2 filters. Does anyone know what the rating on the filters are? I searched but I'm not able to find it. I'm thinking about plumping an inline kit before the first filter as the prices of these filters are ridiculous. I can by 2 sets for my 99 w/ a fass for what 1 set cost me for the new truck.

I've never found the specs for the frame mounted filter, but the canister filter goes down to 3 microns.

RAM / Cummins made a huge leap in fuel filtration improvements with the 2013 & newer trucks. Not sure how much warranty you have remaining, but I'd imagine if there's any fuel system related warranty issues down the road with the FASS installed, I'm sure FCA would tell ya to pound sand.

Is $106 shipped for two fuel filters reallllllllllllly too much once a year or every 15,000 miles???

The rear separator takes the brunt of the filtering. With my lifetime average MPG of 13.6 mpg, my filters probably filter about 1,103 gallons of fuel between changes, given a 15k replacement interval. I probably average in the 14,200 to 14,700 mile interval.

Fuel Separator 101 : Anatomy of a MOPAR Fuel Separator p/n 68197867AA....

There's a huge amount of price difference in injectors from a 1999 to a 2014....do you really want to skimp on fuel filtration given the cost of injectors???

Yeah, $106 is chump change compared to the cost of one common rail injector.

I appreciate the feed back. Glad to hear they finally put the correct filters on these trucks. Just didn't think much to the design to replace them. That canister is going to fun to get to.

The FASS and Fleet Guard filters I ran on my 03 filter at 3 micron on the final and around 30 on that water, maybe smaller. So they are same quality or better, so FCA can whine all they want since I didn't buy their outrageous filters. They wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Plus my dealer I deal with isn't the retards the other are.

I'm sure these injectors are even worse than my 03 were. That is why I switched originally.

I'm sure it is some software screw up on FCA part but according to the lie o meter I have about 4000 miles on new filters and it says I have 44% left on my filter. I buy good fuel from high volume places. If not a software screw up then I will be chucking out $200 a year at this rate.

The mark up of FCA and your source is still robbing us.
I paid $60 for my filters last time and they are twice the size, so twice the material for half the cost and I'm sure $60 still allowed the other party to make money.
