four wheel drive
Hello folks,my trucks has been going into four wheel drive on its own and the indicater light on the dash will not show thats it in 4x4,i only catch on when the light flashes for 4x4 low.It has happened on a long trip going 120 on dry pavement,i don't think that itsgood at all,i've got a little fiberation and its comming right under my feet.i took the drive shaft off and the constant velosity bearing has a bind in it when i rotate it by hand,so i put a brand new shaft on,any idea's why it would go into 4x4 and not show that it was in 4x4,any idea's ,thanks

For 4X4 low to actually engage there is a set procedure and it is difficult when you are actually trying to engage it. If it's selected but not engaged I believe the light flashes. If yours is not selected and the light is flashing perhaps it's not fully disengaged or the switch is asking of it and it's not engaging. Oh for a manual xfr case.
