dually wheel spacers

dually wheel spacers
Im planning on putting some 35X12.50R17 tires on my dually and was going to order the appropriate wheel spacers for the rear duals from an online source. Im looking at steel spacers of course. Im just not sure what size to order. What size have you guys used on your rear duals? Are 1" spacers enough? I don't want to put so much gap in them that it looks ridiculous so I figured I would ask you guys what you used and liked. thank you in advance for your response.

From what i've read about spacers ...if you go too short of a spacer like the 1" you are suggesting the lug studs will have to be shortened. The factory studs will protrude past the spacer itself and the outer wheel will not seat properly against the spacer and the wheel will work its way loose and potentially fall off. I've been also thinking about going with bigger tires on my dually. A 2" spacer is optimal but others and myself have reservations about running that big of a spacer especially since i tow a 36' toyhauler and see loads of 20k towing. If you decide to use spacers make sure they are hub centric and a good name brand. The ebay cheap ones are advised to stay away from.

I agree about being more reserved on the spacer size. That's exactly how I feel about it. I ordered 1.5" spacers from BORA. My goal was to clear the lugs without creating a massive gap between the tires and without making my outside dual more susceptible to breaking off while pulling a load and killing someone. Ill post after everything comes in and I get it all mounted up so that anyone else looking for this information might find some value here.
