cel cant read code says link error

cel cant read code says link error
I have a new to me 2010 3500 64,000 miles and my cel came on . I have an actron orb reader II but it say link error I have tried several times and tried cycling the key 3 times but nothing happens truck runs fine just curious why I cant read codes ? any ideas ?Thanks
