2014 3500 C&C NO G56/4:10 Option
2014 3500 C&C NO G56/4:10 Option
Ordered the truck a week ago, salesman called me Tues and tells me Chryco is dropping the 4:10 option in the 3500 C&C G56. What are they thinking?!!!!
If you want to spin the motor at 2500 rpm to go 50 mph a 4.10 rear would be fine. The G56 with anything higher than a 3.73 rear would be an absolute fuel guzzling slug due to the slow gearing within the transmission itself. Yes it would pull the guts out of whatever you hook it to until it self destructs the wimpy clutch and aluminum case on the G56.
Don't get me wrong I've got a G56 truck with only 3.42s and it still turns some rpms going down the highway, but I'll take that for the ability to do my own thinking when it comes to shifting.

I figured after 8+ years of producing the G56 the aluminum case gripe would have been dropped. I'm sure some break in the modded 800+ hp trucks, but everything else breaks in those trucks as well. With the NV5600 being in from only 1999 to early 2005, I've seen a lot more of them break internals at stock power over the years than the G56. I know this will cause controversy, but I think the G56 has been a very reliable manual transmission.
