GVWR & GCWR? 3500 pickup & 3500 CC?

Why different rear springs?
According to the books. On a 3500 QC 4x4 auto 4.10 dually.

3500 pickup, Payload 4,800, GVWR 12,200, Max trailer 16,900, GCWR 24,000

3500 CC, Payload 5200, GVWR 12,500, Max trailer 16,750, GCWR 24,000

They both have the same tires but they put 9 rear springs on the CC that makes the ride terrible and only 4 springs on the pickup.
Brake rotors are both 13.9"
I didn't find any info on the front springs.

they also have a totaly different frame. The CC have a straight frame and the regulars have a step up frame. Also the cc comes with a different tranny and gear ratios

Yes that's why I don't understand why the GWR are virtually the same. Why build a frame, tran, only has a 3.42 gear ratio that's different on the 3500 CC, (the 4500/5500 has the 4.44 and 4.88), and suspention, that is stronger and better than the 3500 and then rate it the same as the 3500.
The springs are my biggest complaint since it rides terrible and can't carry any more weight. I suppose if your going to put a dump bed, or some kind of equipment on it that would make the normal springs sag over time.

thats the exact point of CC trucks......to put something on the back permanently. the straight rail make it easy for the truck outfitter to mount to. service bodies and such.

I think I'd swap mine for the 4 leaf and add a overload timbren and not get beat up all the time when I'm not hauling something.
