2013 6.7 Feedback
I have a 2008 Megacab with a 6.7 that only has 30K miles on it. I love it but don't love the DPF system. I'm looking at buying a 2013 6.7 but that new emissions system uses the Urea. Has anybody got one?? Any feed back would be great before I shell out $60K

I agree the DPF or soot cooker has been the weak link for Cummins diesels. The ECM will disable regeneration if any codes are set in the engine module. It doesn't take long to competely plug up a DPF making it a very expensive door stop. Ram 3500 DPF's are on National backorder, if you need one you are out of luck. I haven't had many issues with the 2013 yet, they are too new. Maybe in a year or more I will be seeing more of them. Just seeing them come in for basic maintenace right now. They did change the software in the ECM if you run out of DEF fluid your speed will be limited to 5MPH instead of a NO START.

They aren't new to DEF- the 4500 and 5500 had it for a couple of years, correct? I wouldn't assume the the entire emissions system isn't a new setup that needs time to prove itself, but I wouldn't be concerned about the DEF itself.

I believe that is correct. This is also true for the "new" Aisin trans, as it has been used in Cab & Chassis trucks for a while now.

Yeh the 3500 Chassis cab has used it since 2010 I think, Talking of the 2013 3500's has anyone seen one yet? My son ordered one and still doesn't have a date.

None of the 3500s have been delivered yet, it's my understanding that they are sitting in "containment" waiting to be shipped for whatever reason. My father will be ordering a 2013 3500 here soon and has a regional Ram contact that he's been back and forth with about delays and delivery schedules. There is a lot of discussion on other forums about all the delivery delays, guys canceling their orders, switching to 2500s (because some of those have been delivered), etc. etc.

Apparently the term "in transit" through their tracking system is misleading. From what I've read several folks who have ordered show their status as "in transit", but have no expected delivery date or anything else. It seems in transit means little more than, "it's no longer inside the factory" lol.

BTW, who else have you heard from that has said their 3500 is in transit? When these trucks go in transit, you can view their window sticker online... All you need to do is replace the VIN in the link, with the one you want to search.

In Transit means it's left the factory... Based on searching different zip codes on the Ram build site, this is the only one that is actually with the shippers, on it's way to the dealership..

There's guys like Ram3500dually (R3D), that states his truck is built and in storage, but none other have actually been shipped. In fact, his truck was supposed to have shipped a couple says ago, but got pushed back to the middle of April... He's ****** and stated he's told his dealer to shove it.
BTW, I had a talk with the regional Chrysler manager, yesterday, and based on the systems he has access to, he confirmed that this specific truck is the only 3500 that has left the factory.

I was talking with a local (central FL) Dodge Dealer truck guy the other day about these '13 delays. He informed me based upon recent conversations with his factory rep contact, dealers will be able to begin submitting '14 orders in June with typical 4 - 6 week delivery lead times. He also discovered that there will be optional diff. choices in both 2500 & 3500 SRW...including 4:10's with both auto and manual. Currently you can only get 3:42's in '13 models...fingers crossed, we will see...I am ready to step up from my '07 5.9...original owner and 195,000 trouble free engine and tranny miles ...truck chassis and front end issues is another story...
