RPM auto, manual and rears
Can you guys that own 4500's and 5500's list the transmission your using, tire size and rear gearing and tell me what your RPM's are at say 60 mph?
I am trying to get a handle on what rear I may want when ordering a new truck. I know the rears are a lot lower than I am used to but the tire sizes are larger also. I will be running around 23k gcvw.
thanks

Empty about 14.5. I never really hand calc loaded because it $varies so much but the overhead says about 8.5-9. The most i will pull is 17K on the 35' gooseneck. Also, the truck weights 12k empty with the deck. Im registered for 30,026 gross minus the trailer weight

Thanks for the info.
I will probably go with the auto 4x4 with a 9' aluminum flatbed but still don't know about the rears. I want to get the best milage I can towin my 15k fiver.
I know with the 19.5" tires the rear can be lower and is offset by the tire size. I don't want to go to high but how do you think the 410's would work?
Anyone towin and runnin 410's???

A little late but the 4.44s with a G56 = 2300 at 60-65 MPH. Only a few hundred unloaded miles while waiting on my flat bed but overhead is reading 15.8 MPG. Hard telling how acurate it is but there is a little over 300 miles on her and 5/8 a tank of fuel left.
