Exclamation No left hand turn lamp

I have had a promblem before With what the local dodge dealer is calling a tipton meter, i belive, it watches your volts and if they drop, it cuts lights off, well I dont have any left turn lights on my bed, I still have the front working. I have been wondering is anyone out there, wiring around this, or making something to override this? I was also told I couldnt put LED's because it pulls to much juice and will short this box out.........

That's an interesting story on the LED's... LED'S draws less amps than the stock lamps do. if you get a fast/no flash it can be attributed to the LED's low amp rating.. generally speaking you want a min of 2 and max of 4 amps on your TS / tail light circuits.. When I put my Optronic LED's on my bed I was in the range on the tail light circuit but had to install the "RL650" 6 Ohm, 50 Watt load resistor on the TS circuits to prevent the fast flash.. You will get a lamp out indicator if your tail light circuits do not have a big enough load as well..

Here is the link to the "RL650" load resistors, about halfway down on the page / the one under it is for the tail light circuit:

Here is a link to the Dodge up-fitters site for more info on this subject:

http://www.dodge.com/bodybuilder/year.pdf

You need to go to your light mfr's site and get the ampacity rating of the lights and work from there..

Yeah I've had to bring my dealer "Up To Speed" on a few items as well..

Try putting a test light in the LT circuit and see if that helps..

I have pulled my wireing apart where we put the bed on, and I have no juice on the truck side of the wiring, just for kicks, I had the park lights on and jumped them to the LT wire, and the lights came on. So I know its something on the truck side.......

Dealer told me they need to reflash it, but said it might last for alittle while..... this has only happend 2 times, this last time I pulled a old trailer and I guess it triped it. I cant tell, I have my dpf and egr off the truck. Is there anyway to go around it?

The flash should increase the rating on the TS circuits.. I understand the old trailer delima..You could install one of these into the trailer light circuit as it pulls juice from the battery and not off the truck harness:

Ive thought about installing a HD modulite into my tow circuit as well..

Here's my beast, starts at post 22:

so the short of this story is, there really isnt a dang thing I can do to get the lights back on. untill I take it back to the dealer?

The thing about it is, my trailer plugs still work fine. Its just my bed lights.

Thanks Colo_River_Ram, thats a sharp truck. Im going to install one of those boxes so I can put LEDs on my bed.

I just wish this thing was like my 2 gen trucks...........
