Engine Temp.

When I am pulling my GN in the hills my temp goes up to about 212-215. I was wondering if I put a lower thermostat if that would be a good idea. One about 180 temp or should I leave the 210 in? Wondering what the best for the engine is.

When I see overheat or runs hotter then normal on hills on a 6.7 I would check EGR cooler first. Leaking cooler will cause engine to run hot on hills every time. EGR valve will be very clean no soot when cooler has leak internally. Easy way to check for cooler leak is pull the EGR valve first.
