Wipers don't like the cold.

Well I bought my truck back in april with 37000km on it and it has now rolled over 62,000. It is an 06 SLT MegaCab 4X$. Well we got our first cold snap and my wipers stopped working.. I thought they were just froze up and so I parked it in the shop at work for a day. After an hour or so the wipers started working.. great.. I took it out side and they stopped working again.

It warmed up here yesterday to -10C and they work.. but if it gets any colder they stop working again.

Any ideas guys????

Blygy

The Multi-Function Switch controls the wipers/brights/signals, pretty sure that there is an open recall for the MFS on 2006 models. Use the search function.

Yes.. but how does this apply to my problem.. I want to know how to fix the problem. Did this happen to you and the switch fixed it?? Why doesn't it work once the cab warms up??

I dont know if this will work for your truck or not, but if the MFS isnt operating correctly it COULD be your problem. I had NO wipers, replaced the MFS and everything works fine. First thing you need to do is find out if there is a recall on 2006 MFS's then go from there.

Yes there is.. Warranty has been extended on that part until 240,000 km I think..or some such number.. How ever I don't believe this is the problem as when everything is warmer it works..

Any more ideas???

Thank you
