Exclamation Will removeing the Cat also remove warrenty

I just bought an 06 and would like to remove the catalytic converter and maybe some of the insides of the muffler. But will either one void my warrenty.????
How far and what can i do to stay within the warrenty???

No mods as yet, not even gauges as yet... (I'm Lookin)
Thanks

any mods to the emission equipment is illegal and not allowed to be discussed on this forum.

if this is for off-road use only, then it is premissible to loose the cat. it is ultimately up to your dealer. the gains by taking off the cat arent worth it to me. cut off the muffler and call it good IMO

do a search...there is lots of threads about this

Cat Removal

Just talked to 3 dealers here and first one wouldn't make any commitment either way as far as effecting the warrenty, (Possably). Second and third ones said as follows. "Make sure the sensors if any will not bring on check engine light. As long as the check engine light is not on any mods the muffler or cat is irrelivant to the mechanics of the engine and there should be no problem doing either or both. However these mods must not be a direct cause to other engine components."
There appears to be actual laws here concerning this sort of thing as yet !!!, sorry to here that your area may have laws.
So im still a little reluctant but i think its comeing out.

they are probably talking about the moss-magnumsom act (sp)

honestly. if your keeping the stock 4" loose the muffler. IMO messing with the cats not worth it if you are concerned with the warranty. it will make it louder and drone more w/o it and the egt reduction isnt very great from what i hear.

i use my truck to haul my boat and dont want any drone. if i do anything w/ the exhaust, i will get a 5" and a donaldson muffler and call it good

I have my cat off I personally think it smells alot better Less restrictive and overall sounds better I added the 4in mbpr kit and am very happy with the sound and results. If you take it off keep it and use stainless band clamps to put the delete pipe in place So if you ever have to put the cat back on undo 2 clamps and slide her back in and you are epa compliant again
