I ordered my replacement truck Feb 14th and I still don't even have a VIN???? Apparently my truck is on some sort of hold. Has been for awhile now.

Anyone have any idea what is holding up production. DC will not issue a VIN until the hold is released. The dealer indicated that all the trucks he has ordered are on hold and he also does not know why. Seems to me that DC loses alot of money by holding up their production. Of course if the hold up is to make quality improvements to the vehicle then I have no probs waiting.

PapaPerk, you are a very patient person. I remember reading about your first truck. Your dealer really should be able to tell you what the hold is. Is there a possible allocation problem? You might call DC until you get someone who will look into the problem. I have found most of them to be very helpful. What transmission did you order? There have been some availability holds on six speeds. Sure wish you the best. You sure deserve it.

 

Well I call DC today and I got a VIN finally!!!!
Truck should be made mid April. So hopefully I will receive first part of May. My last truck was made Jan 7 and I received it first week of Feb. And that was a delayed arrival because of the exhaust clamp fubar.

I hope this new one runs better than my old one!
