Question Why did it do that ?

Yesterday I was in the process of hooking a tow strap to my 05 (it was stuck on some slick grass) when the horn started to blow and the lights started to flash on and off. It kept this up for five or ten minutes in spite of my doing everything I could think of to turn it off, to include pushing all buttons on the remote door unlocker, starting the engine and anything else I thought of. It finally stopped on its own.
I looked at the build sheet to make sure and sure enough, it does not have any security devices on it. So, why did it do that and if it does it again, how do I stop it.
Thanks for any help on this matter.

Well it sounds like the reverse warning.... If the driver's door is open and the truck is in reverse, the lights flash and the horn goes off.

The door was closed, trans in neutral and engine not running. It did it while I was underneath the front end hooking up a tow strap.
Thanks for the input.

It was just letting you know that it doesnt like to be towed.

Did you have the keys in your pocket. Mine has been known to let me know when something in my pocket, (other key, change, pocket knife etc) pushed on that panic button.

Thanks Blake, I'll bet you're absolutely right. Actually, I had them in my pocket and they fell out onto the ground.
Maybe you should be in the sherlock holmes business....

I took my remote apart and put tape over the "panic" contacts to keep that from happening since I never use the panic feature.

I never use it on mine... but I do enjoy hitting it on my wife's Durango and then hiding the keys from her.
