Wheel Hub Replacement
Wheel Hub Replacement
Last weekend I replaced my driver side front wheel bearing hub assembly with an SKF unit from NAPA ($342). My truck is a 2WD. The old hub didn't seem to have any play, but was getting noisy. Anyhow, the job wasn't overly difficult and went pretty quick.
I did notice one thing though... the top bolt on the back of the hub (the long one) was only finger tight. I didn't even have to put the socket on it to get it out! This could have been what was making the noise... I'm not sure.
I replaced the hub and will keep the old one as a spare... I'll probaly pull the sensor and see about grease into it.
Anyone else had problems with their hub being loose (other bolts?) or was mine installed late in the afternoon on the Friday before labor day?
Thanks,
John.
