What Size Tires?
Hello everyone, this is my first time writing here.Ihave an 07 3500 mega cab srw w/the 6.7, and I want to install bigger tires and rims, but am not sure which route to take. I installed a pro comp leveling kit, I would like to go with kmc rockstar wheels(18x10 in black),with pro comp extreme all terrain tires,in 35x12.50x18 size. Does anyone out there have 35's with just a leveling kit?Do they look out of place or should I stick with 33's. Any suggestions and pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ROB

I have 35's on stock 17" rims with NO leveling kit.. My suspension is bone stock.. Here are some pics.. 35x12.50x17 Pro Comp Extreme All Terrains:
Where the tire rubs the control arm:
Rear of front fender clearance:
Front of front fender clearance:
Entire truck:
Hope this helps.. I know its not 18's, but its close.. and you should have no problem with 35's and a leveling kit.

I will try to test fit some 35's. Does anyone know the proper backspacing. I also wanted to correct myself on the rim size I want to purchase, they are 18x9 not 18 x10 , so they should fit ok,,,I hope.

They'll probably hit. Get some 9 inch wide wheels with 5.5-6 backspacing.
It's less the lift then it is the wheels, IMO it'll hit the rear of the wheel well.

rob i have the pro comp leveling kit o my truck with 35" pro comp extreme alterrains and they fit fine with the stock rims just a little rub at full lock in the control arms but with the proper back spacing you won't have that problem but you have to look at the fact the tires will stick out farther.

In my opinion, optimum aftermarket wheel specs are 8.5"-9" wide with 5.75"-6" backspacing. Mine are 9" wide with 5.71" backspacing, and clearing 35's on 2" lift is no problem. With an 8.5" wide wheel with 6" backspacing you could probably clear a 37" with no trimming or rubbing anywhere with just 3" of lift.

A buddy of mine has a dually with a leveling kit and 35's on it. He put different wheels on it, still 17's, but his tires did not rub and is looked awesome. He now has a 6in lift and 37's and looks really awesome now.

I would love to go with 37's and a 6" lift ,but with the 35's and a leveling kit I can still make it in the local car wash. I no that sounds stupid, but when it is 20 degrees out in the winter, I can run her through the car wash and stay warm. Also I trailer horses, bikes, and equipment all over so the 35's are alittle more practical for towing and still look badass...Thanks for all the suggestions and helpful information. When I get it all finished I will post some pics...

Yeah, I feel you on the car wash. I feel sorry for those guys wiping my truck down when it's cold out.
Like PtGarcia said above it's in the backspacing and wheel width. I ran 315s (near 35s) on my truck with 9 inch wide wheels and 5.71 backspacing with the stock suspension for a couple days and I couldn't make it rub. But then again some people do a 3 inch lift and run less backspacing and rub.
With large tires you also have to think about gearing...
