What are Current Labor costs for ball-joint Replacements?

I wish I could do this myself, but I don't have the tools or a good place to replace the ball-joints and front u-joints. Nor do I have a buddy or friends with a shop or tools.

Soooo, I asked shop that did some welding for me and they said About $350.00 for labor here in San Antonio, TX. Is that about right? Anyone have a shop they would recommend around here? Also, am willing to travel as far as Austin to get them done.

Thanks!

SW ought to be good for a baseline for a work quote against others prices and apparent repute.

I've no garage anymore and am too old to want to bust ball joints again.

Thanks.

I just paid about $500 in labor to have both sides upper & lower ball joints replaced as well as the hub assembly on both sides replaced. Parts were about $1150 for Raybestos Pro Grade.

$350 (total, both sides) would be a great price around here, usually $500. I've done that job a couple of times and if stuff isn't coming apart nicely (brake rotor, wheel hub, ball joints) or if you break something trying to get stuff apart the time/cost can add up quickly!!

I just paid a little over $400 for all 4 ball joints. I supplied the Carli joints and they installed them.
