weird speaker noises
my passenger side door speaker started making a humming/electrical sound when the radio was turned down before.now,,it does it even when the radio is turned off..what is the deal with that?is it a grounding deal?i thought it was just a speaker problem before, but how does it make any noise when its not even on?,,,,,i have just the plain, radio with cass,,not the fancier one,,,,,,,,,,thanks,,,,bama
If it's definately the speaker and your audio system is stock and has the plain system then the problem is the radio, a ground could possibly cause the problem but not likley if the radio works fine otherwise. Listen carefull to the other speakers as well because the passenger door is often the easiest one to hear even though the others are doing the same thing. If you want to be posative you could pull the radio fuses and see if it stops, without any power there shouldn't be any way for the radio to cause noise.
Could be the speaker is hooked up with reverse polarity, not sure if that would still cause noise with the radio off. There is a TSB for this problem for 2004 models, could still be a problem with 2005 if the same guy is wiring the speakers.
