weight distribution 04 Quad Cab diesel

Does anyone know the front to rear weight distribution of the 04 Quad Cab, short bed 4x4 w/cummins and 6speed?

Is it good in snow without weight in rear?

I have the 48 tranny in mine. The truck does ok in the snow and light ice. But to get even better performance, you need to weight the rear. A couple hundred pounds of sand bags really makes the difference. However, I run mine without the weight and just take it a little bit easier. IMHO, driving habits and skills are the keys to staying out of trouble in most weather conditions.

I have about 300 pounds of weight in the back, plus about 100 lbs of tools. I wouldn't mind having about 2- 300 more pounds. I have my tires set at 45 pounds cold.

Are you talking about front weight and rear? Mine is about 4000 lbs front and 3700lbs rear. I have the slip in the glovebox but Iam in the nice warm house.

My shortbed 4x2 6-speed HO weighed in around 4000 front and 2750 rear = 6750. 3/4 tank fuel with a few odds & ends and no one in the truck. This truck is more nose-heavy than my 2001 shorty quadcab 4x2 was and 250 lbs heavier.

I'm running the auto 47RE with a SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch and about 180lbs of traction sand in the rear. I had no problem running around here suring the ice storm. I run the font and rear tires @50lbs when unloaded.
