Voiding Warrenty

Dealer service clerk would not allow service tech to enable computer features (high idle, daytime running lights, power key off). She said that the truck is still under warrenty and that they won't do it. At about the time I started educating her on the trucks they service the diesel tech that was going to work on my truck came up to her and she asked him and he said ya thats no problem. What the heck, has anyone else experienced this or have been told this before? I sware the dealership just make crap up as they go along. Needless to say I got all features turned on.

It seems that a lot of dealerships have clueless people like that. I've read a lot of threads here where people are told all sorts of things. I haven't been back to the dealership since I bought mine, (well, except the parts dept.) so I don't know what they'll say.

It's like the GMs. When you turn off the key you retain accessory power, radio, power windows.

This sounds interesting.....Anyone have more info on how this is used? i.e. page number from the owners manual?

Basically, it keeps the electronics (i.e. radio, a/c, heater, lights, windows) all functional even after you turn off and pull out the key until you open your doors to step out. I don't recall a page number in the book, but I could have just skipped over it. That's basically it.

You actually have a REAL DIESEL TECH at your dealership???
Certified?

All I was told is that; "there is someone here (dealership) thats "REAL GOOD" with those types of trucks..."

I keep saying that there has got to be at least one dealership near me with a REAL diesel tech...I really don't want to pay big time at the local Cummins shop when I'm still under warranty...
