ventvisors, glue or track mount - which is best.

I bought my son a set of ventvisers for his pick up. They are affixed with the glue process but I have heard there may be some issues with the glue and that the ones that stick in the window track are better. What are the pros and cons of these two methods.

Thanks

weather tech are the ones that Dont glue on I have had them on 5 or 6 cars and loved them all, the double sided tapes ones look like hell, IMO,,,,, In colder weather I warm them up in the house or cab so they are a little easier to install...

I have had both on several vehicles. I experienced problems with the glue type, ends come loose, PITA. So now I use the in-channel type only, they have worked the best for me, without problems. Also, I live in the bright desert sun and they have issues with fading over time, it is easier to replace the channel type. I hate the sticky, goobery mess that the heat and sun causes with the double-sided tape on the paint, especially when the sand factor comes into play.

I have had the glue ones on for about 2 years with no issues, however I did notice that a few are loose. 2 friends installed the track ones and one had to cut his passenger side one because it was interfering with the window moving up.

when I first went to do my install, I had a little interference with both the driver's and passenger's side right at the bottom edge where the window would strike them on the way up, in the corner. I put a piece of tape on the window with a little crayon marker on it to have it mark the place of interference with the crayon on the plastic. I sanded that edge a little creating a bevel for the window to slide onto the vent visor instead of where it slid into the thickness of the material at the vent visor's edge. Solved the problem. Edges of molds tend to be slightly thicker and sometime they actually are curved. This does cause interference, and by sanding it, or even cutting it the interference ends. I like the fact that when the window is closed it applies pressures to the glue points, keeps things tight all the time.

With my 06 it doesn't have tape, don't remember how my 04.5 mounted but my H2 had tape. This is on the Weathertech.

With the Weathertech it takes sometimes extra thought I noticed, I had the latest ones installed wrong on the drivers side and the window did struggle a bit until placing the Visor correctly. Sorta furgot about that...

What I like most about WeatherFlectors is they don't stick our very far....nicer lines.

I have ventshades that stick on my 04.5. I love them. No problems what so ever with the glue. If you put them on correct they will hold.
