Took my early 07 in last week for the fix at 28,000 miles and got a call the upper & lower balljoints were toast. All was replaced "under Warranty" including pitman arm and stabilizer. Looks good and steering is very tight, didn't notice a problem but can tell it's better now. No problems, Hillsdale Dodge in Hillsdale Mi.

Im going to put on all the AE parts this weekend. Any do's and dont's. Do I jack it up on the frame and let the suspension come down? or leave it on the ground? its probably one of those things where you mess with it to get the pressure of the links im not sure any help would be great. i do have all the tools for the job though.

donhov,
I'm glad you got your ball joints replaced under warranty--the down side is that they replaced them with same OEM junk they have been using for years.

I believe the shop's tech who showed me the play in the joints with the truck up on their alignment rack. I don't believe the dealer who won't even let me go in the work bay area. Oh, and you can tell just by looking at it in this pic, not to mention the RF tire was wearing on the outside:

I would get the newer pitman arm too, under full suspension compression the stud on the tie rod end at the pitman arm could contact the steering cross bar.
Here is a before and after of the different pitman arm-

The new pitman arm is a must, not really an option because the stud does hit the tie rod. And no, the new pitman arm does not change the geometry and affect wobble.
Since this is not a "kit" people keep thinking they don't need the pitman arm, but they do. It's too bad it is not noted in the parts book that it must be used on older trucks with the new linkage.

Ok so I want to upgrade my steering as well. I am going to be putting a 4.5in lift on there that comes with a differant pitman. With the lift the stud should not hit the rod right?
Also the stabilizer on my truck right now will not work on this setup right? What stabilizer are you guys getting? I cant see my self buying another junk OEM for that much. If I was to buy an after market Ineed to buy one for an "08" now to fit it right?
