Installed the steering kit, stablizer and pitman arm this week and I can feel quite a difference. I drove over a thousand miles since installing the kit and so far no DW, as in the past. The steering kit does not include the stablizer, it is a seperate item as is the pitman arm. You also must have the front end realigned. The truck seems to track better and the steering seems tighter. I agree with the above comments about the size of the new parts--bigger, stronger and heavier. Down side--no grease fittings on the tie rod ends. IMO I would highly recommend this upgrade, even if you have to pay for it yourself--it will probably prevent problems in the future and it may well help prevent DW if you are experiencing that problem.

Ok, I hope that I have figured out the death wobble for most trucks that cant find the problem. I have been through hell with the local dealership as some have read earlier in this post. They keep throwing parts at the problem and they would not help the issue. I took it to a local 4x4 shop and they would only check the toe and suggested more air in the tires. Dealership at one point told me 60psi was to much, they lowered it to 52psi. Did not help. 4x4 shop put back to 80 and now I had major bump steer but it didnt do the death wobble...yet. Took it to a friends shop out of town and he checked the caster angle. He said it was right...for what the dealer wants it at (around 4.5 degrees). He said on all his solid axle trucks and trail rigs he runs around 6-7 degrees. He said that your tires will scuff in a parking lot but going down the road would be much straighter and smoother. He adjusted it to 6 degrees and my BABY IS BACK!!!I kept telling Dodge that the caster had to be off but they would only adjust it to where the book said. If you guys have little to no slop in steering parts and cant find source of death wobble, give this a try. Let me know if this helps anyone else.

I went to dodge parts, and I typed in the number (AE) and it shows 132? It also shows under 2008, center link, and link Assembly if you look it up? I wonder if this is how the new one is? (maybe 222 if you buy the stabilizer?)

The same way you grease the stock Dodge ball joints you don't. In all their wisdom I guess they figured you never have to grease them. With the number of complaints you hear about the failure of the stock ball joints I hope the greaseless tie rod ends work out better. We'll see----

If you purchase it, they will contact you and tell you the price is $222.

OK.............After reading through all 11 pages of this thread. I have a feeling that everyone agrees that this upgrade is fantastic.

However, I have found that there is no definitive agreement on part numbers of the kit.

So, I would like to know what is the definitive part # / kit # for everything - bars, pitman arm, stabilizer shock, hardware?

Here are the part numbers, there is no total kit
52122362AB---Updated Steering assy (Rev B) Most likely none available
52122362AE---Updated Steering assy (Rev E)

68039930AA---Updated Pitman Arm
52122370AB---Steering Damper
6502473---Bolt (1), to attach steering damper
6505623AA---Nuts (3), to attach new linkage
6502835---Nuts (2), to attach steering damper
Just buy one of the Updated Steering assy part numbers. Whichever one you find is good.

Then buy the rest.

Just remember the price shown below is wrong. They will contact you and change it to $222

They won't show up through the search engine on dodgeparts.com's main page. You have to click the "OEM catalog" button at the top of the main page, then imput your make and part number through that search engine. It will then produce results for the parts you are looking for.

You might want to check your local Dodge dealership. Mine was $194 with no shipping charges, but that was before the price increase quoted above.

Yup, I looked in the FSM (forgot I had one) and it reads 4.5º, 4.0º min. +.75º for my 2005 short bed. Doesn't seem like much, does it?
