RamThatS___, Dad graduated from Rocky Ford HS. Grandpappy, G W Abbott grew Canteloupes for seed. He developed and pattened a couple of varieties. His best known was the Abbott's Pearl. Each year he traveled by train to San Fran. to negotiate a new contract with Northrup King Seed Co.

You will love the 2003. Mine a SO sure has the power in these mountains. Most of my driving is between 3200 and 4000 ft ele. on county roads which twist and turn. Anywhere I go is up or down. My first trip is to Sprotsman Hall (Historic Pony Express Stop) for Breakfast. "As the Crow Flies" it is 2 miles, by road 10 miles. I must travel up over the ridge I live on, then down to cross a creek, then to the top of the next ridge. There I travel along that ridge for 4 miles for breakfast. This 2003 with 4.10 axle is giving 18.4 mpg. I have 1 mile of 14 % grade and 1 1/2 mile of 11% grade (49er mule trails now county roads). My 98 gasser never gave over 11mpg.

Best of luck in school.
