Typical poor A/C perfromance

Anyone know of a vendor that sells/makes an over-sized condenser for our 3rd gen trucks?

New truck, same problem with AC. Especially with the mega cab, it takes forever to get the whole truck cold.

Wife ******, need help.

I don't understand.. I don't have ANY problems with my 04 AC... But I don't think there are ANY available options for an oversized AC condenser.

A black truck parked in the open in southwest desert heat will take longer to cool down than a white truck in parked in tree shade in northern mountains. A big truck takes a long time to cool down, so keeping it as cool as possible will be less expensive than trying to rengineer the A/C.

It's a Dodge thing

Since 2003 the A/C is the weak link in these trucks. My 06 Mega is silver with grey leather. In central California any heat over 90F the A/C cannot cool the truck worth beans.

My truck has had the A/C worked on nine times, three dealers and the factory rep was present during the last repair. The A/C is working the best it can (design/capacity wise) just not up to large cabs or warm climates. Love the truck during the 8-9 "cool" months.

You would think they would learn from their mistakes and upgrade the A/C system eventually.
Good Luck!

Same problem here, once i start driving in the sun that AC cannot keep up. Sure it will keep cool when i am parked in the shade or the sun is hitting the top of the truck, but once it hits that windshield and either windows, my AC cannot keep up. And this is not a mega-cab.

The best fix so far seems to be to have the "restrictor plate" installed in the duct to the rear seat. Then have the rear windows cracked about an inch,a/c on fresh to evacuate the hot air.
Because of the way the system is designed,I'm told, running the fan on full speed does not allow the air enough time to be cooled sufficently. So running the fan at the second highest speed gives cooler air.
I also had them completely evacuate the system and recharge to spec capacity. It was 2 oz. low brand new.
All this has made it tolerable.

Oh, and get the darkest tint you dare

I suffered through this past summer with mine only to realize that I have the dreaded "blend door" issue.
It finally got bad enough that no air at all is moving no matter how hard (and loud) that little fan spins

Its getting fixed (warranty) this week so I'll let you know how much better it blows!

Are you all sure you dont have the same issue? I thought it was just "normal" untill now.
