Two things i hate about my 06 CDT

#1 Why did they put the cloths hooks in the rear. You hang anything on them
blocked view.
#2 You open the door and the freaking light only stays on a short time.If you want the light to stay on longer too bad.

#1, I agree with.. I don't like where the hooks are in my 04.5 (same spot) as far as the interior lights, I have the map lights I can turn on if needed.

#1 I use those as hat hooks, no winter coat I have will hang on them.

#2 I end up using the map lights because of lack of sunlight this time of year.

If you have a Mega, these are great, clothes behind the seat, and the seat is still usable...as far as blocking your view, try your side mirrors

Sorry, I just HAD to say it before someone else did. I normally hang stuff from both hooks, and it is annoying......but then the kids get in and drop the DVD player, and the rear-view is completely blocked! Pulled trailers all my life, so side mirrors are my friends.

Ok, enough shots at ya, here is some useful advice (I hope)!! In my last few trucks i have installed heavy hooks above the doors (center of door) in QC. And from these hooks I have hung a clothes rod (adjustable) and then could keep clothes on hangars behind me without limiting the view out the rear window. You will need long screws, over 4" to hit the metal, and be careful not to go through the roof (this would suck)! This has served me extremely well over the years.

I appreciate the thought of a extra power outlet, but who's Bright Idea was it to put inside the fold down center console.

Now to (female dog) about all manufactures...Why the Heck are we still using those big azz cig. lighter plugs for accessories. Sure leave a regular cig. lighter an plug but for everything else it sucks to have that big plug on a little wire.

I don't like how the light stays on at all. That is what the manual switch is for.

man you guys are hard to please......

1- clothes hangers work great for me as when they are on side your clothes always get twisted or wringled.....plus i use side mirrors quite a bit.

2- Light duration...never noticed it actually....always been long enough. then again I have a C cell maglight in a cops belt ring on my transfer case shifter on floor console...so i just grab it if needed.

3- electrical socket....I love them. Regular cigar lighter on dash houses my radar detector....the second one on other side of radio is for my cell phone.....and one inside of console is good for phones too...use it for charging a q-beam when going hunting or for wifes phone as I dont need hers cluttering up my dash storage bins....

4- cupholders.....hell i love them. Since i have the manual transfer case shift...i have floor console as well. mine has two medium size holes and one large holes.....all with adjustable grippers...pluse a tray for change, mp3 players, whatever....

Only thing that bothers me on truck is no true limited slip...everything else i love.

merry xmas...

Don't you think when you open the door on your truck that the light should stay on as long as the door is open??

Mine is weird it comes on and stays on when the key is in the ignition but if I pull the key out of the ignition and get in back to take the kid out of his seat, the dome light will shut off after about 1-2mins leaving me in the dark.

I love that us Cummins owners can only complain about dome lights and cup holders that has to say something about theses engines

I kinda hard to hold a flash light a kid and bring groceries in the house at the same time

I guess I should ask the dealer next time I take it in.

There are 2 things you can do for interior lights not staying on long enough.

Depends on how they were programmed from the factory.
Dealer can reprogram to stay on longer.

The first thing I would try is just disconnect your battery for 10 minutes. On the 2006 trucks just about everything is controled by the engine computer (ECM). It just like your home computer, sometimes they need to be shut down and rebooted. The same thing for your truck, disconnecting the batteries reboots the ECM.

My doom lights would only stay on for approx. 20-30 seconds, after disconnecting batteries for 10 minutes they now stay on for a long time.
