It in the owners manual. I don't remember how off the top of my head, but if you can't find it, let me know and I will look it up.

If you are talking about the auto child locks that lock the doors at 15mph, I'm fairly sure the dealer has to do it. When I got my new truck that was the first thing I did was tell the tech to turn em off. I have had to have the dealer do it on every rig I got that had it.

I think they come on before 15 mph. I thought they must be on a timer. They are a pain in the butt. I am always digging for my key to double click and unlock the doors. We use the truk on the farm stop and go , get something out, put something in , etc.

On the '05s, you can do it yourself -- it's in the manual. I would think '03 would be the same...

Here's the procedure for an '05 (from p. 19) in case you can't find it in your manual:

1. Enter vehicle and close all doors.

2. Fasten seat belt (to cancel any chiming that may confuse you).

3. Place the key in the ignition.

4. Within 10 seconds cycle the key from the OFF position to the ON position four times, ending in the ON position (do not start engine).

5. Within 30 seconds, press the driver's door lock switch in the LOCK position.

6. A single chime will be heard to indicate the feature has been disabled. If no chime is heard, try again.

7. To reactivate, repeat the above steps.

Hope this works on your '03...

It's amazing how much info is in the owner's manual. Also amazing how many people spend $30 to $40K on a new truck and don't bother to read the manual.

Did you know you can also turn off the seat belt chime? A bud just bought a new 300C and was complaining about the seat belt chime. I told him it could be turned off. He said not. We made a $20 bet on it. I showed him in his manual how to do it. I ended up doing it for the $20. Money well spent was his comment. Another guy who won't read his manual.
