Power door locks
Power door locks
Having trouble with the power door locks on the wife's Durango. Had the same problem on my truck when near new.
My truck - first good rainy day, no mudflaps yet. Wet out w/lots of road spray. Driving down the road and the locks pop open. Being @ speed, they relock. Reach into my pocket to remove keyless fob and set it aside. Locks pop open again, and then proceed to go nuts. Unlock-lock, then repeat! Remove battery from fob. Pull over and remove fuse, call dealer, make appt. for two days later. Next morning, replace fuse. No trouble all day, or next. Cancel appt. w/dealer. Truck has not done this since. Been over a year now. I've come to believe that it was water related, and that perhaps the mudflaps helped to cut down on some of the direct spray. Still kind of a weak analysis, but it's the best I can come up with.
Durango - '01 w/75k. Has never done this until yesterday. Wet roads, snow melt, lots of spray, but why wait so long? Wife reported same symptoms as mine. Will look over seals and mouldings today. Gotta be water as the culprit.
Mentioned this to a friend last night, and discovered that friends of theirs have just experienced the same problem on their '00 Durango.
Anyone else have this sort of problem?
Edit - Check this TSB for more info on this. Sounds like they replace all of the switches 'cause it's difficult to determine which one is the problem.

Re:Power door locks
I'd check the connections to the PCM, since it controls just about everything on these trucks.
It is on the firewall, passenger side, 3 big plugs/connectors, many many wires.
Check for cleanliness (it's next to Godliness ya know), clean if needed, apply some dialectric grease (to keep future moisture out) and re-attach.
Go out and find some rain to drive in again and see if it happens again.

Re:Power door locks
my '02 did the same thing that yours did awhile back but i don't recall if it was raining or not though and i never got it into the shop before it stoped. i just pulled the fuse like you did for a day and put it back and it hasn't done it since.
