Turn Signals

Just about every 15-20 uses on my turn signals they won't work. I got pulled over the other day because an officer said I did not use my signal when in deed I did. He let me go with a warning. I found out that my signals were not working on a usual basis just by watching the dash indicator. The only bummer is that when I take into the dealer they say they can't find anything. Well its still doing it and I think I'm going to ask them to replace the relay unit and signal unit on the column. Is there anything else I should ask them to replace? I don't want to get a ticket when my equipment is faulty.

I'm also working on having them replace my steering wheel since the leather is starting to come apart.

I'd replace the flasher first and see what happens. If you want to test it first, swap the flasher for the one for 4-ways with the one for the turn signals and see if it still does it.

On the newer truck there is no longer a flasher to replace. The turn signals are controlled by the FCM (Front Control Module) and its computer. Have you checked for any trouble codes being set in the truck?

speaking of turn signals, does anyone know when they are going to put them on the mirrors or tow mirrors to be specific like the ones they now have on the ford superduty?

my right signal wont shut off. been to the dealer and had the steernig wheel module replaced (at least I think they did) now its back. I think the computers are failing on these trucks. and not working up to snuff. good luck and hope you get it fixed soon.

Just got back from the dealership and they replaced the switch and guage cluster. It works but time will tell. I also had the steering wheel replaced which seems to be much better than the first one, better leather. Time will tell on that one too!

Hey BullettMan, what happened when you took your truck in for that turn left indicate right signal problem? Is it fixed? what did they replace? I have my truck in for the same problem as I type this. And the gave me a KIA mini van as a loaner, HUGH!!(I'm driving the back roads) My problem comes and goes every other day.
and I have a feeling it will not fail when they check it out.

best thing I have found to do with dealers is to put the service manager or mechanic in the truck and drive around until you can make the truck repeat the problem.
I have had to drop my nissan off for a couple problem only to get the call that they couldn't find anything..

Since I never got a reply from bullettMan just wanted to let you all know what fixed my turn signal problem. They replace the multifunction switch and it has not
happen again since. Most of you has had to take your rig back several times on related issues hopefully I don't.
