I get a lot of that too. Most of them haven't seen a dually that big up close before, so they comment on how big it is, and my weighted plates. hahaha. I hate the weighted plates because I have to pay more.

It seems the favorite comment I get is, "They did not have a bigger truck on the lot?" or "Nice ride." It seems to be one way or the other but, I get more comments than criticism.

Actually I dumped the firewood after about 250 miles of driving with it. I had to go on a trip and didnt want to leave it sit while I'm away. You are more than welcome to borrow it, only catch is you have to split it when you come back. Just kiddin.

Me too. I have had a few nice trucks, but this one has gotten the most compliments by far. All my coworkers are: "what do you need a truck that big for"? But, they all LOVE it.

One of them was even thinking about replace his F250, but "wasn't sure about the diesel". Too noisy. I explained the differences between the Hemi and the Cummins, then I showed him He couldn't believe it! I think I sold him.

I parked next to a co-worker's (Bob) '01 Chevy HD 4x4 yesterday and another co-worker (Fred) was parking at the same time. After we both parked, Fred was complimenting me on my new truck and how nice it was and then he said, "Look how cute Bob's truck looks next to yours. Looks like a man (Dodge) and wife (Chevy)."

Bob does have a nice truck, and the 2 trucks are similar; both 4x4, he has after market 17" wheels and 315/70/17 BFG's on it. Although he did have to crank the front torsion bar up ~2" and trim the bumper and fenders to get the 315's to fit And it still sits lower than my STOCK truck.

I was ALL smiles the rest of the day

I LOVE my new truck!

I really laughed the other day - - I pulled up to the front door of the assisted living center where my mother lived to let my wife out. There were about eight ladies and two gents sitting in their rockers getting some sun. Every one of the ladies except one got up and came over to look over my "huge new truck." Hey, these are ladies - - - in their 80's and 90's. Then, they looked in the bed and asked what the big "thing" was in there. I explained that was the hitch for the fiver. THE WHAT???? So, pictures were now in order for them to see what I was talking about (which just happened to be in the glove compartment.

I do get lots of good comments about the truck.

When someone asks me(and I hear it alot) "What do you haul with that?" I love to answer: "nothing,it's my commuter!" ....gets 'em every time!

Sad part of it is....so far it's true!!!

My family mostly drives Toyotas (several bad experiences with Chrystler and Ford in the 80's pushed them there) so I had the "You bought a Dodge" stuff from them at first. My answer was usually something like, I wanted a diesel, Toyota doesn't sell on in the US, and Dodge has the best diesel pickup!

They changed thir song when I took them for a ride and later let them take it for a spin around the block. I think if they had the money they'd buy one too.

Co-workers all love it. I do get the "Why do you need a truck so big?" question once in a while.

Then some friends (the ones that just don't understand) ask silly things like "Why would you want a diesel?" and say things like "Doesn't it sound and smell like a school bus". I tell them the truth about how quiet it is and how it doesn't smell like a school bus, but they don't seem to believe me. I suppose they'll just find out how wrong they are if they bother to come visit.

Put a set of stripes on like I did and watch out for the compliments. The Patriot Blue with the silver stripes and big tires look perfect together.

When I was originally looking, I wanted a dually, the wife begged and pleaded NO. Good thing for her I didn't find a used one, for the right price in new condition. She asked," what would you haul with it, and where do you park it?" My response was, " What ever I want, and where ever I feel like it." So I have an '01 2500 that she lets me drive now and then.
