Is it totalled?

My truck was involved in a head on collision. It's an 05 laramie. The bumper is crushed along with the grill. Thats about the extent of the damage that can be seen. My question is, how bad does it have to be for it to be totalled?

Depending one the miles and what not, I would say it will need 13-18k in damage to need to be totaled, assuming there is no frame damage I would say it is not totaled. Usually has to be 75% of the Market value in damage for it to be totaled. Pictures would be helpful

I can almost bet that the horns are bent, which is the frame, and who knows what all else is tore up and torqed! Do you want it to be totaled? If so, go over the truck thouroghly before the adjuster looks at it and piont out everything you see to get the total up! Good luck man, hope your ok!

We don't think the oil is coming out of the motor, but we won't know for sure for a few weeks. They have to pull the black box out and get all the information from it, so no one is allowed to look at the truck at the moment. It is an automatic and it is blue booked at $25,000.

Looks to me like that is engine oil. By the time you put new accessories around the front of the engine, AC, damper, intercooler, radiator, fan, etc. Possibly straighten the frame and all that sheet metal, and paint, you are right up there. Did the air bag go off?

And it's four years old. Not that that matters to us, but maybe to the blue book.

Maybe, if it is totalled, you can buy it back?

If it is totaled I plan on buying it back. Another question I have is if it is totaled and I bought it back, would it be pointless to try to fix it? It was hard to find this truck with all of the custom ordered accessories it has so I guess I'm just upset that I have to find a new one.

oh and yes the airbags went off

25K really? My guess is that its totaled...that looks like 15W-40 on the ground to me. If I were you and I wanted the truck back I would have the insurance Co. use a low $ value on the truck, buy it back and put it back together. There are a ton of well put together S title vehicles on the road...find a good shop!!!
