Too many Hours?
Had the ride in at the local dealer today, for a rattle in the drivers door (loose nut or something). The service guy ask me "why do you let the truck idle so much? What? Ya the hours on it are real high." First, <edit> does the hour meter have to do with the door rattle?
Here my question? Is 838 hrs on the truck (2004.5) with 24004 miles sound high?
I ask him just what is NORMAL Got the deer in the headlight look
What kind of hours do others have?
Thanx

Yup, an average of 28 mph... which isn't bad, but I guess it depends on just how and where you drive it. If it's a lot of highway miles, then I'd say there's some lengthy idle, but not a lot. If it's city, then that'd be average because of speedlimits, lights and traffic.

Mother of crap! I have 3,556 hours at 50,226 miles. An average 14.1 mph? Is my math right? I idle a lot, but I travel a heck of a lot, the truck will be a year old in April. I have only been letting it idle since it's been cold out. When I visit cell sites I will usually let it idle while i'm there to keep it warm, usually 30 mins to an hour at each. Hopefully my math is wrong, been many years since i've been in school.

You get better numbers if you shut the truck off at all the red lights.
