Too good to be true?

I am looking for a new truck and spotted this craigslist add.

http://anchorage.craigslist.org/ctd/1815704107.html

2005 Ram, with only 32000 miles. I am going to call and get a vin and check if it's salvage or a new engine or what.

Given it really is a low mileage nice truck, my only concern is the auto.

When did the 68RE get introduced?

68RE was a 2007.5 thing. I was think the price was alittle on the high side personally. Maybe trucks are cheaper down here

That would have the 48RE in it.

The 68RE came in with the 07 6.7's.

Thanks for the info on the trans. Prices are a bit higher up here, but that asking price matches up with excellent condition, which it is not. Fair by the looks of the bumper.

Is the consensus that the 68RE is quite a step up from 48RE?

I'm sure you noticed, but it doesn't have power windows or locks. The gray grille is always a dead giveaway that it's the base model with the bare necessities. It may not even have a CD payer. I'm sure that's why it's priced lower compared to other trucks in your area.

Did look bare bones...if I am going to spend the money I want to get a nice truck. That mileage sucked me in at first...

The 48RE is a bit stronger and seems to hold up fine to stock power. Still a 4 speed, though.
