Is this "too good to be true" deal for a 91 cummins

I came across a fella that has a 91 regular cab 2wd 3/4 ton with the cummins and an auto tranny. The guy wants 1800 for it but i think i'll offer him 1500. He said it has 275k on it and was just used for a work truck at a plumbing company. the guy that is selling it has been around the truck for 12 years and said that he has never seen it have any tranny problems or had a tranny replaced (kinda worries me a little). he said that it does not have a goose neck and never pulled trailers. the most it ever hauled was some pipe on a pipe rack that was on the bed. The paint appears to be in good shape and only has a small dent in the driver side fender. I've never bought a first gen and was just wondering from some of ya'll if this could be a "too good to be true" deal. any help would be much appreciated before i throw down the cash.

id say its a good deal as well even if you do need to put some money into it for what ever little things might come up its still a good price.

275K on an auto, you can almost bet it needs work. But still a gooddeal. I bought a $4500 3/4ton and had to rebuild the differential, and am still ahead.

Since the 91 has never been worked hard, it may need fuel system work. The hard work seems to keep the components lued and cleaned out better.
