Tires for a dually

Ok guys up for some new tires before long. Currently I have Discovery M/T tires on the truck stock size got about 22K on them. Just not holding up and we pull or fiver in the summer all over this great country of ours. Not only the wear of the tires but the rotation costs me a few bucks too. Generally the rotation and balance are included with the life of the tire unless it is a dually and they break the tire down and remount. They rotated my tires awhile back and no cost but some tires had white lettering on them and others were black. So now I am going to get tires that are all black inside and outside so I don't need a mount and dismount fee. Some people like white lettering but I don't. Any suggestions of a decent priced tire $250.00 ea. or so that are black wall inside and outside will hold up with a 13K fiver and semi daily use. Running around 70# of air in all tires which was recommended from the dealer.

Stay away from the Firestone Transforce, they do not hold up. I'm gonna be getting the Michelin LTX when we get done with this trip. Total was like $1,700 for all 6 tires, with mount and lifetime balance.

BFG Commercial T/As if you're planning on staying on the pavement. They have a center rib to minimize tread feathering.

My truck had Mastercraft AS tires when I got it used and they were great riding, traction and handling. I got 40K out of them. Now I have some blasted expensive Michelins and I don't think they were worth the extra $$. I have no idea about the price of Mastercraft (I've read they are cheaper Coopers) but I will check them out, next time. Craig

I have been running the Transforce HT for 6 yrs and have had nothing but good luck with them. I'm getting between 60-70K out of a set but have them rotated every 7-8K miles. HTH

I second the Michelin LTX or LTX/2. Got over 100K out of the first set with mild towing. Got them from Sam's Club. Around $1700 for everything with lifetime balance and rotation.

I don't know the definitive answer to that one, but if it helps I've had 245/70R19.5's on mine for several years with zero problems......Ben

I've been running Goodyear Silent Armour tires for the last year and a half. I'm really pleased with both the wear and how quiet they are on the road.
