thumbs up to my local dealer!!!
Took the truck in for an oil change today...(coupons for $69.00) and the service rep asked if all was OK with the truck.. Told him everything was fine.. only thing I noticed was the top of the leather steering wheel was starting to crack and peel....
as I was waiting for the truck he came in and told me it would take an extra hour while they replaced the steering wheel under warranty... he noticed that the 3/36 warranty is up in may and 8K miles so he wanted to make sure I got it done under warranty!
So guys there are a few good dealers left out there!!!!

thats good to hear there are still some out there..i no i am having a hell of a time with the dealer in laramie. I finally gave up on him and drove my truck to cheyenne, wyoming yesterday to get some warranty work done.
The thought of blowing a easy fix like that off is absured.Thats a BIG ticket with a 20% parts markup,no comeback unless really stupid and as much labor or more then a oil and filter change.Whom ever in that dealer just turned a $69.95 oil and filter make no money into a $300 ticket or more I bet and its legit!

Yeah, its great to find a good dealer... Only experience I had like that was with a Honda Dealer in Mobile, AL... Went in for an oil change, they came in and said they noticed the paint was chipping off the Steel Wheels... Said they order a new set of rims and they would be in the following week. Brought it back a week later and had 4 new wheels... Not to mention every time the changed the oil the washed and vacumed the car, or they would give you a coupon to a local car wash for a free cleaning...
I miss that service!!!
No one else ever measures up... when you have had great service like that, you compare everyone to that, and until I get that again, no matter who the manufacturer is, service is failing!!!

Just noticed my s/w cover going south, too. I'm just out of warranty.
Anybody got any ideas about what to do about it? I don't really want a steering wheel as thick as a beer can so I'm not enthused about just adding an accessory cover.

I was looking and the steering wheel is only like $86.00 but it calls for a new clock spring also it was like $30.00 labor was 1hour.. not to bad if it happens again out of warranty...
Hope I can disclose the name.. if not moderators please remove it...

it is good to hear that there are other good dealers out there. i have one here and they treat us like they have known us for years every time we go in. the dealer close to the wife's work charged us $15 to wash my truck after i spent $500 to have all the fluids changed. when i fussed about getting charged for the wash they basically said ohh well. we havent been back since and tell every one to stay away. the one here in town asks if i have time to get it washed (at no charge) to make sure there are no finger prints left on it.
Independent shops usually don't wash at all much less for $15 bucks.Places I worked over the years did clean vehicles after repairs but not at $500.More like a couple of grand.Keeping decent personal to detail/clean vehicles is exspensive.
