Thinking about a 2004 3500 Dually
Thinking about a 2004 3500 Dually
Well I have a 97 single axle 4WD automatic and am looking to get a little newer model. I found a 3500 series with only 5000 miles on it. Don't know the asking price but it is an SLT/4WD Auto Diesel 24 valve.
My 97 has been bomb proof, what about these newer models. What kind of price will I be looking at
Thanks in advance

Hello MBman,
I have been very happy with mine. Mine is a 05 but I had a 03 and was very happy with it also. The only difference between the two was that the 03 was a 6 SP 305/555 and the 05 is an auto 48RE 325/610. I can’t really tell the difference between the two as far as power goes but the auto sure is nice. Sounds like the one your looking at is about the same one that I have. I’ve never owned a diesel before my 03 so I couldn’t tell you the difference between yours and a newer model. The only thing that I can speak from is that I like the newer body style better and the quieter diesel over the older models.
My 05 out the door price was a little over $36,000 brand new (list was almost $43,000). I would think you could get yours a little cheaper.

Oh yeah, one more thing… the mileage has not been as good with the 610 motor as the 555. I was averaging around 19-20 MPG Hwy with the 555 but the most I can get out of the 610 is around 18 MPG Hwy (after the reflash). This is if I keep it at around 65 MPH.

I am seriously considering .
The literature is confusing , pulling capacity 16K or 13500, does anyone have a brochure that can substanciate?
